I support the right of all people to determine what happens to their own bodies. However, I also know that no one ever really wants to be in the position of making that choice. That's why I support measures that would ensure all women have access to safe sex education, contraception, and healthcare. Moreover, women who want to keep babies should be able to do so, regardless of finances. That's why I support strengthening America's childcare system, public schools, and social safety net. We can prevent unsafe back alley abortions, preserve bodily autonomy, and lower abortion rates simultaneously.

Social Security and Medicare are essential programs that protect American seniors' quality of life. Every American worker deserves what they were promised after they retire. We need to act to make sure these programs will be around for generations to come. I believe that we can do this by reversing recent tax cuts for ultra-millionaires.

A corporation is not a person, and money is not speech. Restoring trust in our democracy requires that we take big money out of the equation. I support broad campaign finance reform that will revitalize our democracy and make elections about issues.

By allowing spending to increase in other areas, America can keep the homeland safe AND improve citizens' lives.

Here in Indiana, Purdue University researchers are predicting that corn yields will decrease by 20% in the next 30 years due to climate change. Additionally, heat stroke may become a massive public health issue as we experience more super hot days. We must take decisive action now to avoid this and other serious fates. In particular, I would support legislation that limits greenhouse gasses and also encourages innovation and job creation.

I think that Congress should have to authorize war as written in the constitution. Today's undeclared wars and endless conflicts in countries where the US has little interest wastes taxpayer money and traumatizes our troops. I believe that the US should work to become a trusted diplomatic peace-broker and reinvest in multilateralism and collective security agreements that keep the US from constantly going it alone. We cannot be the world's policeman, but we can invest in peace deals.

I support the negotiation of common-sense free trade deals. I am particularly passionate about this because an unrestrained trade war with China has greatly harmed farmers in my district. Free trade agreements have generally benefited Americans in their trade relationships with many other countries.
My top two priorities are economic recovery from COVID-19 and extending healthcare coverage to everyone. For COVID Economic recovery, we need to expand unemployment benefits, bolster small businesses, work with corporations to prevent layoffs, expand testing so that kids can safely return to in-person school, and save our childcare system from crisis so that parents can go back to work. For healthcare coverage, we need to get people who were laid off due to COVID back to their jobs and insurance plans, make prescription drugs cheaper by limiting patents, and address the 90 million underinsured and uninsured Americans.
